What is crapette?

Crapette is the two-player race card game the Levant calls Tonj: a 52-card duel where both players build shared foundations Ace → King and race to empty their own pile first — while loading cards onto each other to slow the rival down.

Crapette = Tonj = Russian Bank

One game, many names: crapette in French, Russian Bank in English, Tonj (طنج) in the Levant. Tonj.online is that same game, tuned for fast 1v1 duels with a chess-style clock.

How a match goes

  1. The goal

Empty your Tonj pile — 13 cards, top card revealed — before your rival empties theirs. Everything else is a tool to get there faster… or to slow them down.

  2. Load your rival

Place a card of the same suit and adjacent rank onto your rival’s Tonj pile or waste pile. It is the signature move: their pile grows, your path stays clear.

  3. Call Tonj

Miss a mandatory move — a playable Ace, or a Tonj-pile card that belongs on a foundation — and your rival can call Tonj. The penalty: cards added to your pile. In auto-referee mode the server makes the call; a false call costs the caller their turn.

Crapette rules in detail

8 shared foundations

8 shared foundations — one suit per foundation, built ascending Ace → King. Aces are mandatory: play them the moment they appear.

Your 4 slots

4 side slots — build descending with alternating colors, one card at a time; an empty slot takes any card.

The stock

Stock — 35 face-down cards you flip one at a time; an unplayable flip goes to your waste pile and ends your turn. When the stock runs out, flip the waste over without shuffling.

Your turn

Turns alternate on a clock. Play foundations, arrange your slots, flip your stock — then pass when nothing is left to do.

Winning and stakes

First to empty their Tonj pile takes the pot — both entry fees minus the rake. Three tables: Beginner 100, Pro 1,000, VIP 10,000 coins.
